Not sure, Wade, if you sanded drywall and then somehow got drywall dust from that work in your Durock, of if you sanded Durock and got Dorock dust in your Durock.

I spose' though that if anything loose and fine (either Durock or drywall dust) gets between the surface you wish to bond to (Durock) and the adhesive you wish to bond with (thinset) it's not a good thing.

Vacuum the dust off of -and out of- the Durock..... then wipe the Durock down with damp rags.... then go forth and dust thy Durock no more :---).
