Thanks for the response everybody.

Tool Guy - nice to meet a fellow Wisconsinite!

We plan on using a 24" x 84" or so electric heating mat and new tile directly on top of the old very sound tile floor. The new floor height is not an issue.

The new tub will sit an inch or so further back into the tub alcove. Can I use this same mix mentoined above to fill in the gap that will be left between the old cement bed and tile floor and the new tub?

Is there a good method to waterproof this gap? Just silicone the gap between tile and tub? There is a passthrough door planned as well so maybe splashing out of the tub won't be much of an issue.

Thanks,
Mike
