Hi Boe,
I'm not getting the picture, and I don't think the others will, either. I don't understand what the 6 inch requirement is for. The tub drain itself usualy runs under the tub but above the subfloor until it goes into the overfllow tube, which in turn goes into the trap. So are you asking where the trap should be installed?
