Enjoying seeing all this nice work. This was a project we did back in March. The original install was random quartzite over masonry cement over a poorly installed roofing membrane. The plywood subfloor was at least sloped to drains but weepholes were majorly clogged. No wire reinforcing, plenty of cracks, and by the way it was leaking into the finished garage below. Ripped everything out, repaired existing membrane, installed new mortar bed (with reinforcing) then Hydroban. Yes it does hold water! We made sure we did a flood test that the owner witnessed. Then we installed some random quartzite that comes on a mesh that interlocks. Each pc covers about 2.7 sqft. Fairly easy to set but a pain to grout. The first picture shows the original install.
