Has anyone found issues using the Laticrete...

Has anyone found issues using the Laticrete Permacolor or Mapei Ultracolor FA on shower floors? I've seen a review that after cured, these grouts can become soft when wet and/or cleaned with a brush.

I am thinking of using 1/16" spacers for the grout line. Is this pretty doable for a novice using 24x24" rectified tiles. Or should I consider going with 1/8" spacers to give more "wiggle room"?
