Its better if you just seal the grout. The tiles are very hard to damage even over long periods of time. They wont absorb things quickly either.

I know this sounds funny. But I've seen it work many times without etching the surfaces.

Look up the phrase scubbing bubbles. It is installed in showers and works slowly over a 5-7 day period...
