It's unstable as a tile/thinset substrate....The moisture in the thinset will saturate the plys and de-laminate 1/4 board causing a "pillow" effect below your ditra. Just thinset the Ditra to the 3/4...

That tile is glued to sheetrock with double duty mastic. Best I can tell....but it sure looks like it to me. With a "V" notch trowel as well. Probably not much bond there at all.
