I map the floor with a laser and set grade pegs. Pour leveler and "bounce" the material with a homemade t-bar pamper made from a 3/4" copper tee and pipe. No need for rollers or rakes when setting...

That product will work just fine.
Tape your seams with mess tape. Flat trowel the walls with thinset. Comb back of tiles with thinset using a 1/2" trowel and set. Its just that easy!

There is always an exception. In your situation...
There is always an exception. In your situation Ditra will be the one. You will want a good quality dryset mortar to go over top of the Ditra not a heavy modified thinset like Flexbond.

I don't know what you are trying to do but I would never use Sd-P as a mud bed.
