If you don't have a sawzall, or if you find it too heavy and/or too wild to use, a grinder might be the ticket. However, it will make dust so you should wear an appropriate dust mask.

If you can't quite fit the angle you need ....

If the slab proves to be too tough, outlining the area you want to chip out with holes made with a hammer drill will greatly help out. I did that and then used a cold chisel to clear the section...
