You can also order a custom made foam pan. We made the one below for a project very similar to yours.

This is why we like to handle a tile before we bid a job. Not all tiles are made as well as each other. This may just be the inherent flaws in the tile. Keep trying until something works....

As far as electrical outlets go, its always a great idea to round the corners as much as possible to spread out the stresses in the glass tiles as much as possible. Avoid L shaped cuts at all costs.
