Not sure I understand the chemistry behind it all. I thought the lacquer would penetrate the stone immediately changing the color of the stone and helping to drag the urethane deeper into the stone.

Treat the seams like the rest of the sheet. The key is to "set" it into the thinset and not to squish it all out. Do not mix the thinset at two high of a speed and do not mix it to long as both...

I believe that kerdi is suposed to only migrate 1/4". If it is going more than that the user probably mixed the thinset with to much water; which is not my case, or the user used to much pressure...
