Glass tile accent question.

I am adding a horizontal stripe of mosaic glass tile in between my 12x24" tiles, The glass tiles measure 1/4" thick, The 12x24" tiles measure 1/2" thick after they have been laid up on the wall.

The wall is flat I checked it with 5' level, Photo below is using a 1/2"x1/2" notched trowel after wiggling the tile into the wall aggressively, maybe I'm missing something here improper technique...

This was my first layout, but the tile manufacturer recommends no more than a 1/4 of the tile down the edge of the one next to it. This is like 1/2 a tile.

This is the pic Hammy. You can see at one end as they lay on their faces that there is a 1/8" gap. The gap is the same at the other end too.
