Use thinset, the nice stuff you mix with water, comes in a bag, no adhesives from tubs here.
Calk the gaps with a matching color, most grout manufacturers make matching caulks.

Picture of side of one tile doesn't help, place a few tight together on end and see if they are cupped, does happen, looks like installer error...
