Wife has a idea of using large glass tiles (6"+) behind range stove as backsplash, we have pro-style range with high BTU and island trim, I'm not sure glass tiles can sustain the heat from flame,...

how many types and brands of caulk have you tried out?

Every tile stores I bought the caulk from carry different brands of tile caulk, they are all siliconized latex, how many brands are out there? :loaded:.
Are they all good for using in the shower?...

yeah, grout is our friend. I'll never be picky on 1/16" difference on grout joints. You may not have a perfect grouting job later on, why bother to worry now? :twitch:

Gary; If tiles can be glued with thinset on RedGuard, you certainly can tape cbu on RedGuard with thinset.
I don't worry about smooth side of cbu for tiles. Actually, I did the same as you did...

I ran out 1/2" cbu after shower walls, I really don't want to get another sheet just for niche, this thing is so heavy and I can not think of anywhere else I can use it.
