From here that floor looks pretty good. I don't know that you need to do anything to it. Maybe use a high alkaline cleaner and give it a good scrubbing?

I don't know what's going on at USG, but the shower products, including the foam board, are excellent. I would have no hesitation in using them. :)

Yeah, and you're talking to a guy who has tested only one Kerdi shower pan out of the dozens he's done. I tested the one because it was in the city and had a building permit. :)
