Nah, setting tile still requires a certain amount of innate mechanical ability. I know tile guys that have been at it for decades, and still hack everything they touch to pieces. :scratch:

Depending on what you're going over, Ditra XL works pretty well to meet up to 3/4" hardwood. Over a plywood subfloor, 1/4" cement board and a heavy notched trowel might work.

Ditra XL is 5/16". It usually works pretty well to match height to 3/4" hardwood. It depends on how much mortar you plan on using under your tile.
