Thanks for the advice! I will add on a trowel on membrane as well, as I prefer to 'over-build', especially if it's not that much more $$$!

Hi Matt,

That's the stuff. I was going to use it in the part of the bathroom that is not in the tub surround, I have 1/2" Hardibacker there. So, just for the walls bhind the toilet, vanity, etc....

Since I am planning on using SLC, can I just pour it thicker (I'm talking about 3/8" total thickness) and just eliminate using the CBU? If I go this route, should I staple down...
