I agree with CX. Put another layer of plywood and THEN use the DITRA. You "should" be good to go at that point with tile.

I might also add that, to keep the grout "reasonably" decent, you should advise them to use a "Neutral PH" cleaner on the floor......

Houston Mud Method...but not in a full room...just shower floors. Firms up fine and zero problems that I've seen. ...

I generally do NOT grout the jambs. I always undercut them and think that looks more professional...but leave a very small gap between them and the tile.
