I have 5/16” porcelain floor tile. Looks like marble but it’s not.

Brand new blade, Ridgid 10” wet “Porcelain”.

Why is my tile chipping?

Taped and Aqua Defense up

Pic progress.

So I decided to be like the cool kids and use Aqua-mans rubber on the walls. I see the advantage, but man is it time consuming and expensive. I was hoping to get by with one gallon....

The durock is up. I’m proud of myself. Used exactly the amount per plan. Need to remove the mesh fill the joints, then mesh and fill.

My niche is bigger than yours

Finally, end wall framing complete. My Master Framing Merit Badge was well earned. I decided to go with one deep niche and one regular depth. Note to others: notching out framing is not the way to...

Below is a plan for a niche. Also shown is the field tile and mosaic strip. The field tile will be a 66/33 offset. Bought the Keraflex SG thin-set. Right stuff, eh?

As for the niche, I’m going to...

Yes. Either way is what I’m leaning to. I’m going to lay out the tile and see what works.

I have no plan yet on the edges. There is no bullnose for the tile I got. I’m looking at buffing the...

Now that I have solved ( to the plumbing gods) the overflow issues, I can get back to the actual project. Below is my plan for the CBU and the tile. My tile is 9x18 and I wanted to do a 50/50...

YAHBRA - Slotted Overflow

You're all right, this is a poor design. I will be letting Kohler know of my issues and complaints. I did take it all apart and I was able to save the gasket. Kohler has a union of sorts to remove...

Thanks Jim. I don’t think I’ll go to that extreme. Just want to have a floor that will hold up to everyday use with an occasional accident

Good news day

Got some good news.

Got the asbestos test results for the double layer of linoleum and sheet flooring. All negative so I can rip that out. I’m undecided on tile or click-and-lock. It needs to be...

The bathtub is installed. This is a major accomplishment for the YAHBRA!

As for the flanges, this is what I decided to do. I notched out the fixture side. I have nice coverage over the lip (see...

YAHBRA - tub fit and questions

Thanks CX. Good points. Leaning towards poly sheets but I have a bit to think about the niches and stuff. Never considered the repair issue. I can only think of the water wall and that's accessible...
