So V1 is better since I do away with the thin sliver of tile just under the ceiling and just above tub.

However is the tile around the two 6x12 niches a problem?...

bathroom tile layout - which option best

Hi,
I gutted my bathroom in a 1950s house to the studs.
Reframed the walls and leveled the floors sistering 2x6s to the joists.
Bathroom is a rectangle i.e. 96" by 87" and the ceiling is 96" high....
