Thanks Bob, I agree with your thinking. Having said that I would want to go with the Kerdi system. Having said THAT, my next issue would be the seams and the "orange" of the Kerdi.

It is possable that not all is hopeless. The obvious bad contractor may have taped the corners and joints of the cbu. I guess I would start the investigation in a wall corner where it meets the pan....
