Not the size that counts...
... Its more the warmth of the shower.
If you have a 4x6 shower with an open top to a catheral ceiling and one shower head, it will be a drafty shower with two ppl fighting for the warm water....

I see what you mean about a little bit of space between the plaster casing and the gasket.
