Code says you can't be more than 1/4 of an inch from finished wall -- tiles -- And front of the electrical box. So , the electrical box must be installed at least the thickness of the tile in front...

Did see epoxy react the opposite of cement grouts when residue or over watering happened.

Maybe an old batch of epoxy...
