After a lot of help from this forum and work on my part my shower project is finished. It came out really nice in my opinion. I ended up using a herringbone mosaic on the shower floor and niche.

I am at the point for installation of the Durock CBU. Is the rough (printed) or smooth side toward the interior where the tile will go. I am using Durock membrane.

The USG site states either way....

I am at this point also. I received the Durock shower kit. The floor can be cut to fit your dimension. Very easy to trim as the presloped boards are foam.

The shower door actually is hinged to the wall. While I have that all torn out, I will be sure to have stud where it hinges.

I am still considering the presloped style shower pan. I put my hands on the kerdi today. It is just a Styrofoam piece . Is the durock pan made of the same ice chest material as the kerdi?
