Wooden Concrete
Looks like all you "tile only" contractors are fixin' to need to learn you a little carpentry after they start putting wood in your thinset mortar, eh?

Where's Steve Taylor when we really need him? Or Shawn The Greek from Schluter Systems? Surely them chemists and concrete engineers have known about this all along. :)

Added benefit: "...with a potential side benefit of decreasing carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere. Cement plants account for an estimated 8 percent of global emissions of carbon dioxide"

Sounds like a win-win.

Lots of chit chat about the expected benefits in there, but what are the downsides? Weathering, longevity, compressive strength, porosity, cost, all left out of the discussion...

Maybe there are no downsides.
