glass tile

I am a general contractor with a experience installing ceramic and stone tile. Y'all have helped me out a great deal in the past. So, here I go again.

My client, a good friend, ordered some face-mounted on paper 3/4"X3/4" 4mm glass tile. http://tinyurl.com/3v5ynz

I am really not comfortable instaling these tiles. Are they as dificult as they seem? Can a willing installer make them work?

I would probably use a v-notched trowel, and then flatten the ridges with the back side so they don't show through. Use white thinset. Before the thinset sets up, you have to moisten the paper facing with a sponge and peel it off carefully, and then adjust any irregularities in the joints.

Can a willing installer make them work? Yes, but it is a challenge nonetheless. Take your time.

Hi Gary,

I would definitely follow the instructions here. Also, be certain to use a one of the thinsets they recommend.

I've used the MegaLite before on glass. It's great. I presume the others work well too.
