Advice on tiling tub apron.

I have a tub that will need the apron tiled. Should/can the apron be framed so that the finished tile is flush to the front of the apron? Or does the framing on the apron need to extend out so there is a edge? If so, what can the minimal depth of the ledge along the apron be? Or can schluter edge be run along the the apron with no ledge?

Welcome back, Jayrod. :)

Either way you want, ledge or no ledge, is fine.

Without a ledge, there's really no reason to use a Schluter profile there.

One thing you might consider is who will be climbing into the tub. Adding a ledge there will make it wider and a little more difficult to step over.
