Notching and Boring Wall Plates
I have read the 'Notching and Boring Guide' in the Liberry and it deals ONLY with floor joist and wall studs. Are there any guidelines for cutting or boring through top and bottom plates for the purpose of passing ABS for drainage and venting purposes vertically within the walls for residential applications? Maybe someone knows a link for such a guideline????? Thankyou, Mike

Notching and boring wall plates is not as critical as joists. You can do pretty much what you need to do to get the plumbing through. You should consider adding steel shield plates so you don't drive a screw into the piping when you hang the sheetrock.

Thankyou!, this is what I sort of concluded from looking at some other resources/articles afforded me from a general web search. This is a relief. Mike
