Med bed vs full bed

36" x 36" marble tile...Would you consider a medium bed over a full bed..Discuss

What is your perception of medium and full mortar bed?

Med is about 3/8 of an inch where a full mud bed is around 1 to 1 and 1/2inches

The industry got rid of the term medium bed because it isn't a mortar bed as some perceive, it is a bonding material. The limitation is a 1/2" to 3/4" depending on the product. You will never find a floor flat enough to accommodate a 36" tile without some flattening regardless of grout joint width. If someone has the skills and the elevation can be tolerated a mortar bed is the way to go.

I agree, if you cant tolerate the height you picked the wrong material. Even if they say they are all that and a bag of CLIPS. Like what i did there. :postitbg:
