Hey Isaac, is the hydrobarrier a standard precautionary measure in your area or was there some cracking in the slab before you leveled it?

I had a client that wanted a powderbath kind of like one I had done a few years back. I hot glued the blue spacers op to hold the chairrail in place.

did this job over the past week. basement flooded. cut 6 in. of drywall out, replaced with hardibacker and base w/ shluter, widened bar area...tiles were different thicknesses. had to back butter different size tile with different notch. big dip in floor adjusted on the fly with medium bed. no grid. thats my new rubi cutter. i love it.

Nice work Vincent, what was on the floor before the flood? I like what you did with cutting out the drywall and the base, floor around the bar different tile.:clap1:

What is going to prevent water again in that basement?

Katwyk tile 05-01-2011 09:36 AM

Vincent, Those floors came together great. How much did that handcutter set you back?

vrusso123 05-01-2011 09:54 AM

Jon- was carpet. new sump system. plus it'll hold 6 in. of water, steel studs.

Rod- rubi cutter tx-900n on contractors direct (use tile tool link on this page) was $600 with 6mm 10mm (came with) and 18mm (added) scoring wheels.
cutter is an animal. i was scoring w's and it snaps them.
