I'm 34, never have I heard of Buddy Rich........mind you , I'm not a drummer, but I've always respected how they are the ones that keep the beat. I feel that most drummers dont get the respect they deserve, its all about lead singers and stuff.
A friend of mine way on the same plane as Geddy Lee, that the closest that I've seen them. Do you have the Bob and Doug Makenzie album? You must have... |
Buddy Rich is an American icon. Kind of the Babe Ruth of Drumming in the sense that he made it far more popular than it was before he came along. Buddy is still arguably, the greatest drummer who ever lived.

O.K...............I just watched that video.
I'm kinda feeling embarrassed by asking wich KISS was better. That solo was insane! And to think pushing 40 years ago.. Not sure what to say. I feel dumb that I have never heard of him. did yousee the sweat dripping off his nose?.......His wife probably gets mad at him when he gets home because he's too tired to do anything else after beating the drums all day. HA! That guy is awesome tilerite, is he alive or what? |
Don't feel bad about the Kiss thing. Music is one of life's greatest experiences. Yesterday, I was doing the 30 mile ride home after grouting a shower in a log cabin I had been working on for two weeks. I turned on my satellite radio and Dio's "The last in line" was playing. I cranked it up and in an instant, life was great again.
Ok, you want to hear something funny? I'm sitting here with my wife, scrolling through the channels and lo and behold, a "98" Kiss concert is playing on VH1. Peter Criss goes into a drum solo and me and my wife are rolling our eyes. Sorry bro, but I can drum better than that. Funny that you were posting Youtube video's right after watching that concert. Thats really weird. |
That is wierd.
ok. first of all who is Dio, "the Last in Line"?........ Dont answer that , I'll youtube it. Scondly, are you saying that there was a KISS concert at the same time on TV before I started this thread? And C , Eric Carr is better then Peter anyways. Are you a drummer yourself tilerite? |
Randy,
Ronnie James Dio replaced Ozzy Osborne in "Black Sabbath" as the lead vocalist after they fired the little wet-brained troll. :) He had been playing with the band "Rainbow" and he left "Black Sabbath" to form the band "Dio" with Vinny Appice in 1982. I heard he's back with some of the old "Black Sabbath" members working on a new project/band called "Heaven & Hell". Are you sure you're 34??? Shaughnn |
