Replace silicone caulk in shower corners/floor-wall joints with grout?
 
Well, it's been almost 5 years since the great people in this forum helped me with tiling my bathroom - everything from the pre-slope and final mud bed to the shower walls, tub surround and floor. When I did the shower, I used silicone caulk at all the joints. Over time it has gotten a little soggy in some areas and seems to attract a lot of mildew. I think I would like to take out all of the caulking around the shower floor and the bench and use grout. Advice, please...

Well, only problem is it will crack hold water and start mildew again.I don't use caulk at the shower floor myself, but i do around benches and such, why not use a midlewcide type acrylic color matching caulk?

So, caulk is still a better choice than grout? I've seen the mildewcide caulk - I'll pick some up. Thanks.
