What helps chairs slide on porcelain floor?
Pardon the sort of off-topic question, but we just got our first porcelain floor and one of our kitchen chairs just happens to be where there is a slight irregularity/unevenness between two of our glazed porcelain tiles. And this also happens to be the chair our 4 year old daughter has to push in. Are there any products that help chairs slide easier across a "raised" tile? I tried felt and it helps a bit, but not much.... still have to lift the chair leg up to get it over the tile edge.

I've seen what I think are dense felt pads, about a 1/4" thick. Maybe you can bevel the edges so they slide over easier. Otherwise, you can put wheels on the chair, but that can lead to other problems.

I've not tried them, but they also make some hard plastic things you can put on the bottom of the legs - not sure what they are made of, maybe Teflon or a generic?

Jim, it's UHMW plastic (Ultra High Molecular Weight plastic).

WOW......UHMW..........sounds like a war ship, or some kinda university school. :) The ahhhhhhh UHMW would be the way to go for sure. Or, if its only the one tile thats really bothering you, I can't see teh tile setter having any problem coming out to reset that for you. Or if this isent new construction, we can help you to do it.
I have a phone cord that lays by my office chair that I get caught on every day so I know exactly what your feeling. Excempt I'm to lazy to just move the cord. :D
