hello, does anyone know where to buy pre made shower pan that i can tile? I know you can buy pvc and make your own but i would rather buy a pre made shower pan that I can tile. any suggestions?

also please i have another question. I am install the shower in the basement and I have a drain in the concrete basment floor which is just a 3 inch opening in the copper pipe. what would I use to attach the shower drain since its plastic?

thanks for your all your help it is greatly apperciated.

Here's a link to a company that sells prefab shower pans that you can tile.

I'm not clear on your question. If the present drain is 3" copper and it is properly trapped, I would think you'd have to expose the pipe and either use a fernco fitting or reduce the copper to 2". Any chance of a picture. Maybe the drain opening is 3", but the pipe is 2"?

Thanks brian, that site you posted was the first and only result I got on google but they cost like 500+ dollars plus I am in Canada.

I can post a picture very soon. Just picture a flat concrete floor with a 2.5 inch opening. the opening pipe is level to the concrete surface.

Sorry to jump in on your thread. I have the tile redi pan. The 500 includes shipping the really large box. What the specs don't tell you is that there is a large collar on the bottom of the pan around the drain that needs to be below so it sits level. Since Brian thinks you will have to take out some of the concrete, if you get tile redi you will be taking out some for that too.

As another option, Schluter makes a shower pan too.

Good Luck,

yes thanks for the reply. but shipping to canada is going to be more expically brokage chargers and taxes and exchange rates. there must be shower pan that you can just buy. here are the pictures. if anyone has any suggestions for any other part of the bathroom it would be greatly apperciated

Not sure about the price. The regular base is pricey but works great.

look at www.schluter.com for Kerdi (you need their membrane and drain, too), or www.wedi.de for Fundo. One or both should be available in Canada. For the Schluter products, check with the people in the TYW Store on the blue bar above.

cooter, I second the idea of the Schluer tray and drain, very reasonable in Canada. I also think a Fernco adaptor would work out fine for the pipe John.
