That one is really making the rounds, Jason.

To be fair, this is nothing unique to Obama. The same holds true for any government expansion plan supported by any president in my lifetime. And make no mistake - there are liberty stealing presidential thugs from both sides of the aisle.

I've already answered that, but here you go:

So, as usual, we are "debating" an issue by proving the other guy wrong rather than backing our own positions.

Isn't this what they do in congress? Fun to watch, though, no?

Just need to get you a photo up there Java. :)

Hey when I do a job I give the homeowner an estimate for the work if they ask. If they can't afford it they don't do it or we have to cut back on the scale of the work. Perhaps they have to find someone cheaper than I am.
If I don't have work I have to lower my price. Free market just like many of you want.

The same thing would work on the healthcare system. How many people are going to be able to afford $1500+ per day in the hospital if it is really coming out of their pockets.
Course more than a few people may die because of it. ;)

Insurance IS socialism whether it is run by the government or by the capitalistic market.
Your socialism program is raising everyones medical costs. :shades:

ob1kanobee 09-09-2009 09:35 PM

Scott, if you think there is a lot of paperwork now, you haven't seen anything yet if the government takes over :shades:

stullis 09-09-2009 09:37 PM

Speaking of socialism

I'm tired of paying for everyones health ins that gets it tax free from their employer. ;)

Welcome back Dan! Where you been?
Good link to Ron Paul's perspective!

stullis 09-09-2009 09:41 PM

I didn't say I wanted it taken over by the government just yet Ben.
Playing devils advocate. :)

But how do you explain other countries lack of paperwork that has a system such as France. :uhh:

ob1kanobee 09-09-2009 10:05 PM

Scott I really don't know but this would be my guess.

If I was collecting a bunch of money with taxes to cover healthcare I wouldn't bother to keep much of a record either.

If someone says, hey do this stone job for me and don't worry about the costs or keeping receipts, I have plenty more where that came from................Just send me an invoice every time you need some money......

Actually had a tile job like that once. The guy wanted no receipts and he paid in cash. I'm pretty sure what he did for a living as there was one room with 3 bolts on the door (master locks) that we were told not to go in so I didn't go in there. To this day I wonder what was in there?????? I know there was money in there because that is where he got it all the time. Super nice guy though!

ddmoit 09-09-2009 10:08 PM

I was on vacation last week, Scott.

I should point out that all this talk about socializing medicine is academic. Our government has been bankrupt for some time, and it's running out of willing lenders. It cannot continue. That fact is the elephant in the room.

stullis 09-09-2009 10:26 PM

There is still paperwork and recordkeeping Ben just not nearly so much.
In France the doctors and patients have very very very little paperwork compared to our bloated system as I understand it.

Obama underwhelms Congress

WOW! Was that Obama's worst speech ever, or what? Did anyone catch all the laughter when Obama said "there are a few details to be worked out?" :lol1: That was an understatement, of course, and the speech added ZERO details. There is still no "Obama plan," and we're learning more every day about how little consensus there is among the Dems. Now all the GOP has to do as pay attention to one of the oldest rules in politics - When your opponent is committing political suicide, stay out of his way. :wohoo:

stullis 09-10-2009 01:34 AM

We both know the GOP isn't smart enough to do that Art. :D

Back home from surgery today. İ went with the general anasthesia and we were in a fairly nice hospital. Had a large private room for one night. Ended up costing usd 900.

Funny thing is that they brought food but no silverware or drinking vessels. Also no towels in the bathroom.

Clean modern facility and all staff was very good.

Doctor asked me this morning- Do you piss? Then-I dont know how to ask-have you fart?

We paid an extra usd 5 for my wife to stay with me and the private room was an extra usd 50. İt was a huge room. No TV but a refrigerator. I decided when travelıng we will just stay in hospital rooms from now on. usd 55 per night with all meals included. Just bring your own silverware cup and towels.

Mike, good to know everything went well. It's amazing what medical cost outside of this country.

Meanwhile, I see some are getting their boxers in a wad over President Obama's speech.

I was appalled at that Republican senator's outburst (Wilson). Classy act that:wtf:

Much explained here: http://www.crossroad.to/articles2/009/health-bill.html

MudMaker 09-10-2009 10:43 AM

Unions to benefit most from Health Care Bill.. BO continues to reward those who put him there, at the expense of the general public..
