Diverter Gap
1 Attachment(s)
Hello All,
I cut out the hole for the diverter. What do you use to fill in the gap? |
Hi Berry,
Looks like the gap between the Hydro Ban foam board and the diverter body is too wide to use their sealer/adhesive to fill it. I'd recommend that you use a strip of Hydro Ban sheet membrane band, cut carefully to follow the curved contour. Affix the band to the HB board with thinset mortar then seal the edge of the band to the body with sealant/adhesive. Is this the same shower as in this thread? https://www.johnbridge.com/vbulletin...d.php?t=131848 |
No Sir
this is a just the shower project i am working on. I will apply the membrane thanks for the clear direction |
I looked at it again and its only 1/4" gap at the top and 1/8" on the side.
The HydroBan sealant should fill this right? |
How does your valve trim cover that gap? Most valve trims provide some type of seal incorporated on the back side of the trim. Many shower valves require a hole with lots of gap to access replacement parts.
Did the valve manufacturer specify the hole in tile/backer dimensions? |
