Any advice on whether to use Ditra or Proflex over plywood on kitchen floor would be appreciated. Putting down 13 x 13 porcelain tiles and thought Ditra would be the way to go, but not sure. Thanks, Mardee

Mardee, Proflex is designed more for use over concrete slabs, to bridge cracks and control joints. It can also be used for sound control which can be especially important in apartment and condo complexes.

Ditra on the other and is well designed for use over plywood floors and is what I would recommend using in your kitchen.

Mike: Thanks for the quick response. Will take your advice and go Ditra, as originally planned. Don't know why so many tile installers out here (N. Cal Bay Area) seem to shy away from Ditra. Perhaps old dog syndrome or inexperience with it. Thanks, again. Mardee
