i have a bathroom that is getting ready to receive tile. some drywall work was done to fur out a divider wall for a new shower surround. i want to install tile around the opening of the shower as an accent, but i have a question. new corner bead was installed with the drywall but no mud work was done to the corner bead. since i'm covering the bead up anyways with the tile, is it necessary to mud the corner bead prior to tile installation? thanks!

I sure wouldn't think so, Chris.

You thinsets gonna' act like drywall mud anyhow.

that's what i thought, i just wanted to make sure. i'm not exactly sure how well the metal corner bead and thinset would play together, though there is about 5" of bare drywall in between for the thinset to grab.
