my tile guy is doing a typical tub/ shower 3 wall tile job using 3x6 ceramics.
He is proposing to start on the long wall at center line and work to the corners.
This will leave a small (1" or so) piece at the corner and he will "roll" (his term) the corner to have it be a mirror image each side of the corner.

does this sound reasonable. the small piece at the corner has me a little concerned.

Jam, there are two ways to center your layout along that back wall. A.) Center on a tile, or B.) Center on a grout line between two tiles. I can't tell for sure which one you are referencing so try the alternate method and tell us what happens.

Whether that solves the problem really depends upon the layout pattern. If you are using an alternative brickwork pattern, both of those methods will result in a skinny cut, just on different courses is all.
