i've been reading about laying down a second sheet of ply for stone tiling according to ditra. how do you leave an 1/8" gap between the sheets? because when you're screwing down the sheets you can't really see how much gap there is. also leaving a 1/4" gap at the perimter. does that mean the perimeter of the room or the plywood sheet?

i hope my questions makes sense.

Welcome aboard, Martin. :)

A good trick for leaving the gap between plywood sheets it poking a 16d common nail in between to keep the sheet from closing up when you're screwing or nailing it. :)

They are talking about the perimeter of the room for the 1/4 in. gap.

Unless you are using T&G plywood, in which case you do not have to leave such a gap.

I beg your pardon? You don't drive the T&G tight together either. Take this to the Hangout, Scooter. :)
