Help. We just installed identical tile flooring in the kitchen that matches to the existing tile in the hallway that was installed by the previous owners 6 years ago. The tile is Marco Corona from Italy. The problem is that the new batch of tile has less of a glaze on it. The color/size/shape is identical except the finish. I also have an original tile (not on the floor) to compare so I know that the original floor has no sealer on it. What can we do to make the finish
look like the hallway?
P.S. The new tile goes darker when we wash it, the old doesn't.

Thanks Tim

is this a glazed ceramic tile ?

if so there isnt any sealer you can add to it to make it shinier to match the other tile, glazing is done at the factory and sealers wont stick to the glaze and peel off.

Tim -

Sounds like you got a bad batch the second go around or a good batch on the first go around. :)

Like Brian said, there is nothing you can do to glazed ceramic.

However, you mentioned that the new tile darkens when wet, indicating insufficient glazing by the manufacturer (based on your previous experience with this product). With this info, you may be able to get the product replaced.
