HI,
I'm working on our third tiled tub/shower surround using Kerdi. We're getting better at this everytime thanks to all the help we get from this forum.

This morning/afternoon however, the husband seems to have mixed the thinset a bit on the runny side. We're using Versabond (white) and the 5 dollop method on our large 13x13 tiles. We're getting great coverage and the thinset sets up with a few minutes after hanging the tiles..... but there is no way this batch of thinset would hold ridges if we were using a notched trowel.

Problem in the long term? Normally we would grout the next day. Should we wait longer?

I don't think there would be a problem long term as long as the coverage is good. If you are using porcelain, you may want to wait a few days anyway. Kerdi is impervious as is the porcelian. Not much there to absorb the moisture from the thinset. It's up the "air" to dry it out
