Hi

I am removing an older pre-formed shower pan to replace it with a new swanstone pan and the drain is a pvc pipe with a pressure fit rubber gasket. that is all keeping it in place right.

Ive been digging at the rubber gasket for an hour but can only succeed in getting pieces of it off.

Any helpful hints? there must be an easier way to do this!

thanks

Alex

update: i drilled about 20 concentric holes in the pan and was able to lift most of the pan out...but now i have a small circular piece of shower pan stuck to this darn pvc pipe with a rubber gasket holding it on. hmmm.....i'd prefer not to have to saw the pvc pipe off if i can help it....

I would saw the pvc. It's easy enough to fix.

Alex,
Ya just gotta keep on diggin... Sometimes a pair of needlenose pliers will do but most of the time ya just have to get in there and pry it out...
