Hi I'm new here. I've tiled twice before but both times was over concrete. I have a question about tiling a floor in a bathroom. My bathroom has 16" OC floor joists with 3/4" plywood on top with a layer of what I think is somewhere under a 1/4" masonite. Not sure if it is indeed masonite but it is a brown colored pressed paperboard or wood. They had it under glue down 12" tiles. I was thinking I could use that schuluter ditra stuff and just mortar it to the masonite. Do I have to remove the masonite? Will mortar stick to it?
Thanks

Morter should NEVER be put on masonite. Morter to masonite is like Kryptonite to Superman. Guaranteed to delaminate.
