Hello tile folks.

Are these any good? (Preformed tile niches and shower pans)
They look like major timesavers.

http://www.bonsal.com/tilepage.html?sid=1376

I had read about these here before, but for awhile
Bonsal didn't have them on their site. I am, in particular,
interested in the shower pan. (I would use it and the niches.)

Anything to watch out for if your using them? The one thing
I could see with the shower pan (Fixed standard dimensions)
Is the framing might have to be furred out to get the
backerboard to be even with the pan edges.

Thanks for your time and help >> Dave Skinner

Hi Dave,

We've had good success with the niches here on the forums, but not a lot of experience with the shower floor. Don't know.

Dale Watnee, one of our members is also the inventor of those products. You might want to shoot him and email.

Thanks John for the response and starting this forum. It's
just excellent. If I do use the pan I will mention how it was to use. (Assuming I don't screw it up too badly.)

The niches are a great time saver I love using them. They are a big hit with the customers. The pan I have never used, I suspect as you do, that too many modifications would be needed in most cases unless you have the power to have the showers framed to suit the pan.

Thanks for the reply Bud.
The shower pan seems like an interesting product.
I will call their technical rep. to find out more.

Thanks again. >> Dave S.
