Could you all help me with some newbe questions! This is a concrete slab that had tile glued down.
1: Can SLC be used over cutback? I have scraped all that I can and now need to level the floor.?

2: Has anyone used those toilet shim pieces that bring the flange up to the grade of the tile? Should they be caulked?

3: Is back buttering a option instead of leveling the floor? Can it be used to make up small variations in the slab?

Thanks to all. This is a great place to find help. Did a bath floor that came out great with your folks help. Thanks Glen

1) I believe the SLC primer is rated for use over cutback. Check with the manufacturer or read the lable.

2) I think flanger extenders should be siliconed to the flange to make them permanent. Do not silicone them to the toilet. ;)

3) Depends on how small is small. How small are the dips in your slab?
