View Full Version : Tiling Shower Floor

I've just moved into a new place and there is a small shower in the downstairs bathroom. Previous owners tiled the shower but didn't do anything to the floor ... it's just concrete. I want to tile the floor of the shower. I've never tiled before but I don't want to hire someone to do it either. So, can anyone give me advice on how to begin and what things i need to take into account when planning. My mother mentioned something about probably having to raise the drain. Is that something that is doable on my own or should I call in a plumber for that?! Okay, I think that is enough questions for now. Thanks in advance! :)

Hi there,

I suggest you start with reading the following posts in the liberry. http://johnbridge.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=5434

Then, come on back and we'll answer specific questions.

FYI, at least the bottom 12-18" of tile will need to be removed from the wall maybe more once you see how it was installed.
