I cut the hole to my valve trim to big. I am using permaboard plus. Is there a fix to this problem?

Welcome, CA. :)

Perhaps a bit more detail and maybe attach a photo?

My tile job was a tub/shower combo.

Obviously holes had to be cut in the CBU to allow plumbing stems to penetrate the wall for the shower head, the valve, and the tub faucet. These holes were obviously made a little bit bigger than the diameter of the pipe.

I used a surface applied membrane to waterproof the shower, and simply filled the gaps between the CBU and these pipe protrusions with plumbers putty. In hind sight, I probably could have filled them in with thinset before applying the surface membrane.

Unless your hole is so large that it's causing a structural issue (i.e. there's not enough wall left to set a small piece of tile), then I would think you too could simply fill the gap.

Another option would be to rip down and replace that piece of CBU.
