View Full Version : Porcelain Tile

I have a new porcilian tile floor in my kitchen and back entry of the house we are moving into. With twin toddlers, should I seal the tile as well as the grout? Can I use the same product and do both at the same time? I had purchased Tile Lab SurfaceGuard Penetrating Sealer at HD, but from the postings I read today, I should return that and get Aquamix sealer instead? The tile was completed last weekend - how long should I wait to seal the grout and/or the tile?

Thanks for your info!

Return the Tilelab. It's not much better than water IMHO. I like the aquamix products. HD has those as well.

No need to seal the porcelain tile - just the grout. If you get some of the sealer on the tile, just wipe off the excess before it dries. It won't damage the tile

hi jodi,

While I agree with everything Jason says, I happen to like the TYW sealer that you can purchase right here at the TYW store better.
