Kerdi Shower Systems in Home Depot & Lowe's
A little birdie whispered something in my ear the other day to the effect that Schluter has begun introducing their shower systems into Home Depot. It's up to individual store managers to opt in, so it won't be company wide just yet. One of the requirements is having a bay available for the display. However, the birdie mentioned that the products are already in 60-plus stores in various parts of the country. This will be a boon to DIYers who might otherwise have difficulty obtaining the products -- and also for pros who need the products quickly.
That same birdie mentioned that Schluter will be selling to Lowes as well. That's all the birdie told me.

Selling Schluter in the box stores was going to happen sooner or later I guess. What would make just as much sense to me is Schluter marketing many of their products to the plumbing wholesalers especially their linear drains. If a plumber beats me to the punch there's no telling what kind of drain I'll have to set to.

As I said, this will mainly benefit DIYers. You guys can relax. Schluter has been in Home Depot for more than a decade.,

Items have been available onliine for a little while.
Now if CBP will just put their Uncoupling Mortar in the big box store.
Edit, selection is very limited to what is available.

They sell Ditra and kerdi band at all depots near me. Kerdi band is same as what I pay at tile shops.

I'll probably never see Schluter in my HD. They don't even carry Kerdi in our specialty shops around here.

As a matter of fact, the birdie told me that Custom's uncoupling mat mortar will be available as part of the kits they stock at the Depot. Forgot to mention that.
As an aside, the price of the drain is less than I was paying before I retarred.

Sounds like the birdie really spilt the beans or did ya beat it out of him
I'm surprised to hear that Lowes will be selling the product as well.. usually they carry different products, for the most part.
